Honeywell Wi-Fi Thermostat Troubleshooting Not long ago I bought and installed a Honeywell RTH9580WF Wi-fi thermostat. It is a really great device, but unfortunately it is powered by power from the furnace (through the thermostat wire). If the furnace is powered down for service (or from a power loss) the thermostat will lose its wi-fi connection to your home router, and you will get the following error via email: The following Alert has occurred: The thermostat (xxx) is not communicating with My Total Connect Comfort. Alert occurred at: 11/19/2017 1:43:03 PM Location Name: (xxx) Thermostat Name: (xxx) The iPhone app for the thermostat won’t work either. Even after the power is restored to the thermostat and it is working normally, you may still get connection errors.
